Product User Manual
Product Name: TPU Invisible Car Paint Protection Film
1. Installation Environment
The film must be applied in a sealed, clean, and dust-free environment to prevent dust particles from entering the adhesive layer. The installation area should be maintained at a temperature of approximately 25°C and a humidity level above 65%.
2. Installation Steps
- Application Solution:Use Johnson’s baby shower gel (strictly avoid milk-based types) diluted in purified water at a concentration of 0.10–0.15%. The optimal solution should be evenly sprayed on the adhesive surface without shrinking or foaming.
- Installation Plan:Develop an installation plan based on the car body shape. The recommended installation sequence is:
Roof → Front & Rear Hoods → Front & Rear Bumpers → Side Doors → Door Handles → Side Mirrors.
- Cleaning:Thoroughly wash and treat the vehicle surface to ensure no contaminants affect the installation.
- Inspection:Check the vehicle for any damage, ensuring the original paint is intact and free of dents, bumps, or stains. Document any defects and have them confirmed by the customer, taking photos if necessary. The protection film should not be applied to repainted surfaces that have not undergone professional baking or simple spray-painted areas.
- Pre-cutting:Cut the film according to the vehicle model, leaving at least 5 cm of excess material for easier application. After cutting, remove the protective repair layer and roll up the film (matte release liner facing inward). Avoid using the first and last 2 meters of each roll for front and rear hoods. Secure excess film with masking tape to prevent separation of the release liner and adhesive.
- Lubrication:While removing the release liner, spray the adhesive surface evenly with the application solution to prevent static dust attraction and ensure sufficient lubrication on the coated surface, adhesive layer, and car paint.
- Positioning:Leave adequate excess film based on the curvature of the installation area. Stretch the film accordingly but avoid excessive stretching. Recommended maximum stretch rates:
Roof, hood, and doors: ≤10%
Front and rear bumpers: ≤15%
This ensures the material remains under normal stress.
- Water Removal:Spray the application solution on the coated surface before using a specialized squeegee to remove water. Never dry scrape to avoid displacement, wrinkles, or scratches. Water removal should follow a top-down and center-outward principle, ensuring complete water removal in one pass to prevent trapped water bubbles. If particles are found in the adhesive layer, gently lift the film to remove them, allow the film to regain its original shape, and reapply with the application solution within 5 minutes to avoid adhesive marks.
- Precision Cutting:Trim along the edges of each vehicle part, leaving an extra 5–10 mm. Since the product is soft and flexible, excessive stretching (above 10%) must be avoided to prevent edge shrinkage. Ensure a sharp blade and maintain a cutting angle of less than 30°.
- Edge Sealing:Rinse the edges thoroughly with clean water. Once the edges and surrounding areas are dry, wrap the edges. If needed, use 50–60% alcohol to wipe the paint edges before applying heat with a heat gun. After wrapping, heat-seal the edges with a heat gun (do not exceed 80°C).
- Final Inspection:Perform a comprehensive check of all installation areas, clean the film surface, and complete the process.
3. Maintenance & Care
- Avoid washing the car within three daysafter installation and do not drive in rainy or snowy conditions to prevent the film from peeling due to trapped moisture.
- To prevent staining, promptly remove any liquid contaminants from the film surface.
- If bird droppings, insect remains, or similar contaminants appear on the film, clean them immediately. Use hot air (~60°C)to assist in stain removal.
- Wash the car weeklyusing a neutral detergent (avoid simple rinsing with water).
- In summer, do not park the vehicle under dripping air conditioners. If exposed to rain, wash the car the same day.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
- In snowy conditions, remove accumulated snow from the vehicle before starting the engine.
- Apply car waxevery 1–2 months for maintenance (recommended brands: 3M 39528, Turtle Wax G-2011DA). Do not polish.
- When replacing the film, allow the vehicle to return to normal temperature (especially the front hood) before removal. Peel at a 180° angle, cutting into 30 cm-wide stripsfor slow, even removal to prevent adhesive residue.
- Minor scratches on the film surface self-heal at temperatures above 40°C. In winter, use ~45°C warm water or hot airfor quicker repair.
